The Golden Jubilee: our Home, our Heart, our Singapore

2015 is an important year for Singapore and fellow Singaporeans. 50 years of nation-building by our pioneer and country leaders has shaped Singapore into a prosperous and beautiful global city today. More importantly, through our trials and tribulations, we have also built our Singaporean identity and have successfully put multi-racial harmony on the map. Seeing our nation’s remarkable achievement, the Nuffnang family is greatly humbled by our leaders selflessness, and aspired by their ambitions and vision for Singapore.

If you have been reading our Dayre, you would have read about our announcement that Nuffnang is a major partner of the NDP2015 committee! No words can express how proud we are to be a part of Singapore’s grand celebration of her Golden Jubilee.

Being NDP2015’s exclusive blogger community, we were invited to various media events. Let us share some of our excitement meeting the NDP2015 participants, and adventures riding on the vehicles that you would see on 9 August.

1. Majulah Singapura – Everybody can be a Pioneer of Tomorrow!

At the first NDP2015 media event, our Bloggeratis were privileged to meet some of the participants and boy, were they all so excited!

Corliss was elated to meet and chat with our Singapore Girl representing our national carrier Singapore Airlines at the Vintage Parade segment.

Did you know? Diah’s own brother is currently part of the Singapore police Force. So it is no surprise that she was exceptionally happy to meet SSSGT (R) Ramalingam S/O Nadasan Pillay who first participated in NDP in 1967 when he was in the Police Force!

The event certainly injected a healthy amount of patriotism into us, and some of our bloggeratis also had many heartfelt wishes and aspirations for Singapore.

And as Mongchin said, “I’m very proud to call myself a Singaporean and am very thankful to be able to call this country my home. I’ve said this umpteen times, I know, but I truly am so so proud and I couldn’t sing enough praises of this little dot of a country to others when I was travelling all over Europe for half a year last year.”

2.  Media Launch of NDP and SG50 Fun Packs

One great essence of watching the National Day Parades live is waving the Singapore flag and shaking the red and white clappers with so much gusto and pride. These accessories alongside Singapore flag tattoos and homely snacks are all packed into the Fun Packs. This year, the excitement packed into the signature Fun Packs can be enjoyed by every Singaporeans, not just spectators in attendance. Yaaaaaay!

What is better than free goodies? Free goodies packed for you with love by another fellow Singaporean!

No wonder the Singapore Kindness Movement was polled to be the most memorable campaign. Singa must be proud.

We need not say more when it is written all over our bloggers’ faces just how exciting A Fun Pack from Me to You can be.

And walking away from the event, Becksko literally brought out the words from our mouths. “Born and bred in Singapore, nothing makes me prouder than to see my country grow, and to grow with my country as one.”

3. Air Show and Mobile Column Displays

Each National Day Parade is also an opportunity to be proud of our country’s security and military strength. Just like social media these days, defence of our sunny island is a 24/7 responsibility. For this, we would like to thank all our military and civil defence officers for their selfless protection of our nation all year round!

Guarding our skies are our RSAF. This year’s air participation boosts the largest number of aircrafts featured ever at any NDP! In line with Singapore’s Golden Jubilee, 50 of them will make up the aerial show.

On land, Singapore also enjoys the protection from Singapore Armed Force, Singapore Police Force and Singapore Civil Defence Force.

During the media display of the Mobile Column, we were invited on-board some of the vehicles that would be featured in the NDP 2015 Integrated Show. And oh boy, that ride packed more thrill than one on a roller coaster!

The 4 media events put together by the NDP 2015 Committee have reflected the amount of thought and effort poured over each idea and item for the parade. We share the excitement with them and can’t wait to see all Singaporeans come together as one to celebrate our nation’s Golden Jubilee!

Nuffnang SG would like to wish the committee a very successful show come 9 August!
